I'm a Leprechaun
Ref.
Ahh fiddledy diddledy catch and griddle me,
quick or I'll be gone,
fiddledy diddledy catch and griddle me,
I'm a Leprechaun,
When I was a boy more than once I was told,
All about a Leprechaun and his crock of gold,
With golden sovereigns and more than this,
If you could catch a Leprechaun he'd grant you a wish,
But catching this little lad was very hard I fear,
For whenever he was seen he would always disappear,
Ref.
Now you can say I was drunk or you can call me a liar,
But one night in the woods yes I saw a fire,
And I thought I'd go closer and have a peek,
So through the woods I started to creep,
And to my surprise around the fire all dancing in a ring,
Were a score of little Leprechauns and I could hear 'em sing,
Ref.
So I thought I'd wait until they'd finished their fun,
And then they'd all go to sleep and maybe I could catch me one,
All tired from dancing they lay down on a log,
So I caught one tight and he turned into a frog,
All wet and slippery from my hands he did spring,
And he hopped to the woods and I could hear the rascal sing,
Ref.
